Crane Trust
The Crane Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and maintenance of critical habitat for Whooping Cranes, Sandhill Cranes and other migratory birds along the Big Bend Region of the Platte River Valley through sound science, habitat management, community outreach and education. Each spring over a half million Sandhill Cranes congregate on Nebraska’s Platte River, and their largest roost is situated right along Crane Trust lands. While the Crane Trust is busy year-round, March is a time when we all pull together to welcome over 30,000 tourist through our doors as well as over 500 VIP guests doing all-inclusive experiences. Some of my responsibilities included:
- Refined the Crane Trust brand across all marketing materials to attract potential donors to witness the migration of 600,000 Sandhill Cranes through an all-inclusive VIP experience.
- Managed new website development, migrated content, did troubleshooting and oversaw reservation booking software development.
- Built and managed social media prescence, posted to blog regularly, managed monthly e-newsletter, responded to all reviews and wrote press releases.
- Planned, promoted and branded several events such as the Total Solar Eclipse Viewing, 40th Anniversary Celebration and Buffalo Stampede Bike Ride.
- Assisted the Director of Fund Development with the annual appeal and presentations.
- Trained and supervised the Relationship Coordinator to assist with social media and blog.
- Entertained over 500 VIP guests during their all-inclusive stay with the Crane Trust every March, ensuring their guest experience left a great impression. These one-of-a-kind experiences began in 2014 and now generate over $600,000 annually for this small nonprofit.
